Gwyneth finds romance in London

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow seems to be winning in her private life along with her professional career.

As she prepares for her London stage debut tonight, she has been enjoying the company of 30-year old American actor Luke Wilson. A few months ago it was reported that the couple had parted but now they appear very much an item.

Wilson, whose previous girlfriends have included Drew Barrymore, has been seen leaving Miss Paltrow's London flat and the couple have been spotted out in the capital several times, including a shopping trip to Sainsbury's in Fulham Road.

The Oscar-winning star of Shakespeare In Love has previously been linked with Brad Pitt and model Donovan Leitch.

But she appears to have found happiness with Wilson, whom she met while they were playing a step-brother and stepsister who fell in love in The Royal Tenenbaums.

Wilson is regarded as one of Hollywood's rising stars. His previous girlfriends include the actress Drew Barrymore.

Mis Paltrow appears in Proof at the Donmar Warehouse theatre tonight.

She left her £1.5million townhouse in New York's Greenwich Village to move to Britain last month.

Before her arrival she told newspapers: "I'd like to stay in Europe for a while, maybe in London, Berlin and Paris, and wait for something really exciting."

She knew she would be guaranteed a warm welcome. Her A-list best friends, including Madonna and Stella McCartney, already live in the capital. A committed Anglophile, Miss Paltrow is one of the few American actresses to get an English accent down pat. She has visited twice before to make movies Sliding Doors and Shakespeare In Love.

In her new role at the Donmar Warehouse she plays a withdrawn young woman who inherits her father's genius - and his mental problems.

The production teams her once more with Shakespeare In Love director John Madden.

It marks a return to her stage acting roots. Miss Paltrow's first performance was as a child in the small but prestigious

Williamstown Theatre Festival in Massachusetts.

But she has not been on stage since she was 21, when she appeared in the festival opposite her mother Blythe Danner in Checkov's The Seagull.
