Gun victim dies a year on from being shot in street

A MAN who was shot in a north London street more than a year ago has died from his injuries, police said today.

Jerome Vassell, 19, was shot in the head at a community centre in Wood Green in October 2006 and was left paralysed and brain damaged.

He died after collapsing in December 2007, police revealed today. A post mortem revealed he suffered an epileptic fit directly related to his gunshot injury.

His mother today implored the black community to stop turning a blind eye to their children committing crime.
