Green quits Safeway fight

Billionaire Philip Green has pulled out of the battle for Safeway.

The Bhs and Top Shop chief said he had decided against a bid after "detailed analysis" of the supermarket's recent business.

It leaves the field clear for Wm Morrison to launch a new offer.
