Girls on William course strip off

Girls on Prince William's university course have taken to stripping on their nights out.

By day, Emily Kiefer, a 20-year-old American, studies the history of art. But by night, she likes to entertain her friends with a spot of pole dancing.

Miss Kiefer, who is in her second year at St Andrews University, gyrated in front of cheering customers at a city nightspot, before taking off her shirt and flashing her white G-string to produce an even louder roar.

The 19-year-old prince, a first-year student, watched other students modelling lacy underwear in a university fashion show in March, but was not at the Siglo Bar in Edinburgh when Miss Kiefer took the stage.

Anything he saw then would have been tame compared with the performances she and other students put on as they competed for a weekly £100 prize.

Some went topless or flashed their buttocks and two, Simone Jones and Lynette Peach from the University of Central England, even put on a mock-lesbian show.

Miss Kiefer said: "I really enjoyed it when I was up there, but I'd knocked a few back earlier on, otherwise I wouldn't have had the guts to do it. I just thought it would be a great laugh. " Her boyfriend didn't agree, muttering: "I don't think it's very funny."

The previous winner, Amy Summers, 20, of Edinburgh University, triumphed on her sixth attempt when she finally dared to go topless.

The contest is judged by a panel of four, including bar manager Paul Hackland. He said: "We're not looking for anyone to do anything vulgar."
