Girl aged 14 is grabbed off street and raped

A 14-year-old girl was dragged off the street and raped in a daytime attack.

The teenager was grabbed by two men as she walked to shops in Hackney, marched to a nearby house and subjected to a terrifying ordeal.

One man raped her as the other watched, but the victim kicked and screamed until they panicked and stopped.

They then led her out of the house but she was spotted by relatives who came to her aid and the attackers fled.

Detective Superintendent Mark Holmes, of Hackney's Sapphire unit, said: "This was an abhorrent and despicable attack on a young girl."

The incident happened a month ago but police released details today in the hope witnesses will come forward.

One attacker was black, aged 28 and 5ft 8in tall, with brown eyes and a face covered with spots and cuts. He wore a red baseball cap and a gold chain with a square pendant with Chinese writing. The other man was black, slightly taller and with an Afro hairstyle.
