Genetic defect of 'obese' girl

A girl of three said to have died from obesity had a genetic abnormality, it was reported today.

Radio 4's Today programme said experts from Addenbrooke's Hospital told them the girl, from east London, died from a defect. It had been reported that she died from heart failure, with a Body Mass Index equating to about 6st.

Radio 4 said the girl's body was constantly telling her she was starving to death, causing her to scream for food.
