A case of art imitating life? According to the eerily prescient plot of this very real, real-time strategy game, America has decided to seize oil reserves in order to stall total economic collapse. In response Opec countries call a jihad, and Russia becomes embroiled too. You can play as US, Russian or Iraqi forces. The Americans have advanced technology, but need transport support. The Russians have a large army, but only basic repair capabilities. And the Iraqis balance poor technology with masses of troops, suicide bombers and excellent camouflage capabilities. With increasingly complex missions, slick graphics and well-balanced if difficult play, this is a winner - albeit one with dubious taste in timing.
