And I thought the Gran Turismo games series were difficult. World Rally Championship kicks off where GT3 left off, and has courses from all over the world; from icy Sweden to urban Monaco with a wealth of cars to get your hands on. But it's bloody difficult. I tried it with the Force Feedback steering wheel and it's not a pick-up-and-go kind of a game. But it is a grower.
Give it a bit of time and it will all click into place. It looks superb, naturally (well, it is made by the same folks who did GT3), especially using the driver's POV, giving the game a lovely touch of realism. Nice one. (NP)

Driven Game Boy Advance

Driven is based on the film released at the beginning of the year starring Sylvester Stallone. No, I haven't seen it, nor do I have any intention of seeing it. Why should I? I've played the game and it made me icky.
The aim is to fight for survival in a dangerous world of fast cars, fame, money and women. OK, so I'm exaggerating, Game Boy Advance can't offer fame or women, but it does give you racing modes, multiplayer action and crash sequences at 200mph. Wow-wee! Can gaming get much better?
Yes. The game play is way too stiff, the graphics are far too sketchy and my stomach felt like it had been pulled out through my bottom. (HM)
