My friend Stuart had promised to help me review this game, but instead he went off to Clapham Common to find gold with his metal detector (Christmas present). So I apologise in advance for a rather scratchy review - sadly the rules to cricket are not my strong point.
Cricket 2002 offers loads of modes - one-days, full test matches, the World Cup, World Series, Sharjah Trophy, exhibition and knockout. The game, as with all EA Sport games, looks amazing, with life-like precision, from player physiques and faces to ball physics and pitch details. For the true cricketing connoisseur, stats aplenty are included, from run-rate graphs to wagon-wheel positioning charts.
For the likes of me there are even practice-nets to get a feel for the game. EA has pulled off a near faultless performance, doing for cricket what they have already done for football games. (HM)
