Unlike Ms Messenger, who seems obsessed with the GBA and all the things her midget friend can do, I'm yet to be a convert. But Doom almost made me think twice. Almost. It is identical to the old PS1 game but with fewer controls, so it's a bit less responsive.
I'm impressed that games such as first-person shoot-'em-ups are coming onto the diminutive hand-held's screen, but not so impressed by the juddery, uneven nature of the gameplay. Doom was a great game when it first appeared, but things have moved on, and I think the makers could have included something a bit special to make this a decent proposition. (NP)
