Freak 9.11 lottery win

A daily New York lottery randomly drew the numbers 9-1-1 on the anniversary of the 11 September attacks.

Nearly 15,000 people are counting their winnings after picking the numbers in commemoration of the event.

A spokeswoman for the New York Numbers lottery game said there were 14,878 winning tickets, with the top prize at $500. The total payout will be almost $5 million.

The lottery halted bets on 9-1-1 on Tuesday after too many people chose the combination.
