Fox is top of the tree for climbing skills

This fox branched out for a spot of sunbathing - at the top of a 30-foot tree.

The animal was spotted by staff at Greenpeace who were amazed to see it settle into its leafy perch for a snooze in the charity's Islington garden.

Ben Ayliffe, of Greenpeace, said: "We were in the office when we saw a graceful, ginger flash climbing up a tree. It seemed to be enjoying sleeping in the sun."

Trevor Williams of The Fox Project, a London-based welfare organisation, said: "Foxes are not known for their climbing skills. If this fox is using the branches to climb up the tree, it really is remarkable. In the 25 years I've been doing this, it's something I've never heard of."
