Fireworks finale lights up the Thames Festival

A spectacular fireworks display marked the end of the Thames Festival as crowds enjoyed music and dancing on the South Bank.

A colourful carnival procession and jive dancers took over the area from Tower Bridge to Westminster Bridge as part of Boris Johnson's event at the weekend.

Packed-out stalls lined the river offering international food, drink and souvenirs, and children even played on a sandy beach alongside the Thames.

The two-day event is London's largest free outdoor arts festival, with all entertainment and activities being focused on the river.
