Fighting for tourists

This is the latest craze drawing tourists in Thailand - boxing orangutans.

Plucked from dwindling rainforests, the endangered animals are trained to fight in front of cheering audiences.

Jim and Alison Cronin, who run the Monkey World centre in Dorset, caught the boxing matches on film for a TV documentary.

They said: "The animals are taken into captivity as pets and taught to fight in front of a referee. It's so distressing." Orangutans could be extinct within 10 years.
