"Where can we go? We have nowhere to go," said Marina, 30, an Ingush living in the town of Chermen whose father-in-law is the local mullah. She left Chermen for two years when the war broke out in 1992, and remembers living with only the clothes on her back and cowering under gunfire. "I hope to God it doesn't happen again," she said. "We've already known this before."
