Failed student shoots three dead

A student shot dead three people after being suspended from a law school in the Appalachian mountains in the US.

Two of the victims, the school's dean and a lecturer, were shot in the head in their offices in the village of Grundy in Virginia.

Peter Odighizuwa, 42, a naturalised US citizen from Nigeria, who had a history of mental instability, was expelled earlier this week because his grades were not high enough.

He returned with a hand gun, and after shooting the dean and lecturer, opened fire on a crowd of students. One died and three were critically injured before Odighizuwa was overpowered.
