Expert sees echo of Diana in body language

A body language expert claimed today that Rebecca Loos is telling the truth about David Beckham.

Psychologist David Cohen, who studied the tape of her interview with Sky television, claimed Ms Loos showed all the hallmarks of a scorned woman. "I got the impression she was telling the truth throughout. She genuinely thought she could steal Beckham away from Posh," he said.

Mr Cohen claims there are similarities between Ms Loos and the Princess of Wales in her interview with Martin Bashir. "They have similar face shapes and body language. I think their attitude was the same - it is the classic scorned woman who thought she could win the man.

"The big cow eyes and tilting of the head are common in both interviews," he said.

He believes Ms Loos did not receive much media training for the interview. "She is obviously a very diplomatic person but she has not been extensively schooled. She doesn't hesitate at all when she talks about coming out of the hotel, and it is obvious from her facial expression she is talking genuinely about having a great time with Beckham.

"She keeps smoothing her hair, which shows she would rather not be doing this. She looks down and her lips twist a little, which show nerves. She is obviously not relaxed, but it is not strange to appear nervous when you are talking about something so intimate.

"The only part where she is insincere is when she admits what she did was wrong. It feels as if somebody told her to say that because it was the right thing to do, but on the whole it is a convincing performance."
