Estate yobs sent on holiday

Teenage thugs who have terrorised the residents of a housing block are being sent on holidays by Islington council.

Residents of Highbury Estate say hooligans are being "rewarded" for their daily round of vandalism, abuse and theft.

The week-long trips to adventure centres in South Wales cost £89 per head. Lorna Reid, of the residents' association, said: "These children are stealing and bullying over many months."

Steve Hitchens, leader of the Lib-Dem-run council, said: "I don't know of any children who are being prosecuted."
