England's golden boys Tom Daley and Max Brick can't stop laughing

Tom Daley celebrated his Commonwealth Games gold medal victory today with a fit of the giggles.

The 16-year-old clinched the 10-metre diving synchro with partner Max Brick.

But as he received his gold medal in front of 2012 chairman Lord Coe, he and Max burst out laughing.

He said: "We just had to laugh because we didn't know what to do, whether to sing the anthem or anything. But it is just amazing to win the gold medal. We wanted to come here and do well and to get the gold was the icing on the cake."

Daley, who won the world individual championship in Rome last year, travelled to Delhi without his father Robert, who embarrassed his son by bursting into his Rome press conference after that victory pleading for a hug. "I have just spoken to him on the telephone and he was singing 'Olay Olay Olay', said Daley.

"It is quite embarrassing. He always finds a way - but bless him.

"I rang him straight after just in case he interrupted any press conferences or things."

Brick said: "This is my first major title, I haven't really got the words to explain. But I just can't keep the smile off my face."
