Duke of Edinburgh has hand surgery

The Duke of Edinburgh is recovering from an operation to correct a trapped nerve in his left hand.

Prince Philip, 88, had carpal tunnel syndrome, the same condition as former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

He did not stay in hospital overnight but has reduced his engagements this week.
