Drugs gang boss jailed for 18 years

The leader of a drugs gang who lived in a £1 million Surrey home, had a fleet of expensive cars and sent his children to private school, was jailed today for 18 years.

Sean Lynch, 48, faces having the property on a private estate at Warlingham confiscated along with a £170,000 Aston Martin and Ferrari.

A jury at Kingston crown court yesterday found Lynch guilty of conspiracy to supply cocaine. He had previously admitted conspiracy to supply amphetamines, cannabis resin and herbal cannabis. Judge John Crocker, passing sentence today, said: "I am quite sure you were the organiser, the man who kept very much in the background."

Ian Nesbitt, 46, of Tooting, described as Lynch's right-hand man, pleaded guilty to all four offences and was jailed for 12 years. Stephen Voller, 56, and David Warwick, 34, also from Tooting, were found guilty of the same four charges. Voller was sentenced to 14 years and Warwick to 12. When police mounted a surveillance operation on Lynch's home, neighbours pointed to it saying: "That's where the drug dealers live."

Lynch also had a convertible Mercedes, a convertible BMW 6 series and a Range Rover Sport. Nesbitt drove a second-hand Rolls-Royce.

Surrey Police say the men ran one of the biggest drugs trafficking networks seen in the county. They were arrested last October after a lengthy inquiry.

Police say the gang stored drugs at a terrace house in Derinton Road, Tooting. Warwick and Voller lived in the house where they received shipments of cocaine, often from drugs mules from the Caribbean. The gang would then distribute the drugs in a blue Mercedes Elegance, meeting clients at pre-arranged spots in south London and Surrey.

When police raided the two properties they found cocaine, amphetamines, cannabis and MDMA (ecstasy) with a total street value of £600,000.
