Driven mad by Christmas

Almost six million Londoners will be travelling a total of more than 873 million miles by car this Christmas, research reveals today.

Almost 90 per cent of Londoners will be on the move over the holiday period, and two thirds will be driving more than 50 miles in one trip, according to a survey by Marks & Spencer Money.

A spokesman said: "This is the time for people to check their breakdown insurance, make sure the mobile phone is fully charged and, for longer journeys, pack emergency items."
