Drinking club 'on rampage'

A notorious drinking society for some of Oxford's wealthiest undergraduates is today facing a clampdown after members trashed a local pub.

Four people claiming they were part of the Bullingdon Club spent the night in cells after rampaging through the White Hart, in Fyfield. "It was totally bizarre," said landlord Ian Rogers, 42. "They were extremely well-to-do young men. But they just erupted and smashed everything up. It was like a drinking club mixed with a fight club. I called the police."

The club whose previous members have included Lord Bath and diarist Alan Clark, has a history of drunken vandalism. The initiation is said to involve the trashing of your university digs.
