Donor eggs for sale online

The founder of the controversial ManNotIncluded.com sperm donor website is setting up a new service to enable anyone to buy human donor eggs on the internet.

John Gonzalez, dubbed the "Stelios of Sperm" for his internet-based sperm business, is calling his new venture GirlNot-Included.com, and hopes to launch it within the next few weeks.

On the new website buyers and donors will remain anonymous, but the buyer will be able to choose the donor based on certain criteria, such as age or race.

Like its sperm-selling predecessor, the site is expected to offer the service at cut-price rates compared with the often very expensive IVF treatment sold at clinics.

Mr Gonzalez, 41, said: "It will revolutionise things and make it better in an inexpensive way. We will be making eggs available for everybody."

But ethical campaigners are furious about the new website. Josephine Quintavalle, of the campaign group Comment On Reproductive Ethics, said: "I think this is absolutely outrageous. Mr Gonzalez seems to think he is God Almighty, distributing his largesse to the world.

"He is overlooking what is best for the child, as well as the possible health problems that could come with the donor eggs."

A spokeswoman for the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority said: "As long as Mr Gonzalez is not providing actual treatment then he is not doing anything against the law."
