Do ya think I'm sexy?

It was the night Rod Stewart went to celebrate the opening of his West End musical. And the veteran rocker's girlfriend Penny Lancaster was in the mood to make sure it was a party to remember.

The 32-year-old model wore a revealing black dress made for her by Lindka Cierach - the designer favoured by Cherie Blair, Sophie Anderton, Jodie Kidd and the Duchess of York.

The dancing took place at a party at nightclub Pacha in Victoria after a charity performance of Tonight's The Night, based on Stewart's songs.

However, Rod refused to join his partner on the dance floor and Penny boogied the night away while her exhausted 58-year-old boyfriend slumped in a chair. The statuesque blonde was dancing so wildly at one point that she cut her leg with her fingernails. Clubbers were surprised as she carried on dancing despite the cut.

It was only when she retired upstairs to the club's VIP area that Rod realised what had happened and called for a security guard to tend her leg with tissues.

One onlooker said: "It was an extraordinary display. She looked wild and danced even more wildly, It was a hell of a show."

Shortly after, Rod called a halt to the party - and to save Penny's embarrassment he then banned photographers inside the club for snapping them as they left.

The evening came after Stewart attacked his critics for ridiculing him for dating younger women, claiming he got "killed" for taking young lovers while the likes of Sir Paul McCartney got away with it.

Last night Rod said of the new musical: "I have seen the full show three times now. It's just incredible. I am very proud of it - everyone's done a fantastic job.

"There were so many smiling faces tonight that I just know it is going to be a big hit. Penny loved it too."
