Dennis Wise's home raided

A soccer star's sister was terrorised as robbers ransacked his £2million home.

Kim Wise, 39, who was housesitting for Millwall manager Dennis, locked herself and her two children in a bedroom.

Ms Wise phoned police while two burglars smashed up furniture as they searched for valuables downstairs. The robbery follows raids on the nearby homes of Ozzy Osbourne and Cilla Black in Chesham, Buckinghamshire.

It comes as police today issued guidelines saying householders can strike first using makeshift weapons when tackling intruders.

Ms Wise was with her one-year-old son Daniel and daughter Emma, nine, when she was woken in the early hours in the house near the A40 in Denham.

Former Chelsea star Wise, 38, who was away in Dubai, said: "Kim was woken at 5am by her little boy crying. She went out to see him and realised that the security sensor lights were on outside.

"Something was going on. The two patio doors were wide open. She ran but didn't panic as she went to grab Daniel and Emma. Suddenly she could hear the footsteps of people running around downstairs. It was terrifying.

"The next thing was the alarms started going off. She locked herself in the bedroom. We are very fortunate."

Wise, who has lived in the house with his wife Claire and their children, Henry, four, and one-year-old Amber for almost three years, said: "It was really scary. I really feel for Kim." He told the Daily Mirror "She was terrified. The poor girl was just sitting there locked inside the room. She's understandably very upset about it. Very shaken."

The gang grabbed a camera and car keys before fleeing. The burglars are believed to have been watching the house and knew Wise was away on holiday.

Police are today studying CCTV footage from the house's extensive security system.

Wise, who has played for England 21 times and won the FA Cup three times, asked his sister to house-sit after his rented home was burgled five years ago.

He added: "The two robbers triggered the outside security sensor lights and waited to see if there was a reaction inside. They must have thought it was empty because they didn't get a reaction."

The area near Wise's house has been the scene of a string of high-profile burglaries. In November last year Osbourne, 55, fought with a burglar who broke into his £5 million home and stole jewellery worth £2 million.
