Death prison for 'coup plotter'

Simon Mann, the alleged leader of a failed coup plot, is to be sent to a notoriously brutal prison in Africa.

The Old Etonian and former SAS officer is in prison in Zimbabwe over the botched mercenary coup in Equatorial Guinea, which allegedly had Sir Mark Thatcher as a sponsor. Zimbabwean ministers have said they are ready to send the 51-year-old to Equatorial Guinea, where he would be held in Black Beach jail.

Amnesty International says inmates there suffer "a slow, lingering death sentence".
