Staff at Brixton's Ritzy cinema also paid tribute to the star, who was born in the area, by displaying a sign reading: "David Bowie. Our Brixton boy. RIP."
Tributes were also left outside a Zizzi's restaurant in Beckenham, south-east London, on the site of the Three Tuns pub, where Bowie launched Ziggy Stardust.
