Dave Lee Travis trial: Jurors can give majority verdict, judge rules

Jurors in the trial of former Radio 1 DJ Dave Lee Travis, who is accused of indecently assaulting two women and sexually assaulting a third, have been told they can return a majority verdict.

Prosecutors claim the ex-Top Of The Pops presenter was an "opportunist" who acted as if he had the "perfect right" to grope young women.

The allegations against him date back to the 1990s when he was starring in panto, while the most recent was said to have happened during an interview with a journalist at his home in 2008.

On their third day of deliberations, the jury of six men and six women were told by judge Anthony Leonard QC that they can return a majority verdict, on which at least 10 of them agree.

"Try and reach a verdict on which you all agree." he said.
