D&G arrives in London

Paris Hilton wears its dresses, Brooklyn Beckham wears its jeans - and Liz Hurley slips into its skin-tight T-shirts.

But until now, D&G has been a label without a store in London - strange, considering its popularity in Britain.

But all that is set to change, now that a swank D&G store has opened its doors on New Bond Street. The three-storey building, designed by architect Rodolfo Dordoni, is full of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana's light-hearted D&G line, which, for the uninitiated, is the younger sibling of the more grownup Dolce & Gabbana label.

With less-expensive prices and a younger profile, it's the sort of thing your teenage sister might covet (although adults love it too, provided they have the body to show it off).

One such teenager is 14-year-old Riley Keough. The grand-daughter of Elvis Presley chose the D&G catwalk show to make her modelling debut last week in Milan. Her gamine good looks set off the label perfectly. Design duo Dolce & Gabbana have always been savvy in linking their brand to celebrity names, and Keough is just the latest.

Victoria Beckham is a fan of their main line, while past guests at their catwalk shows have included Kylie Minogue, Jade Jagger and actress Monica Bellucci, who is also the face of their perfume, Sicily.

Menswear and childrenswear are stocked in the new store - but it's
the womenswear that has the highest profile.

For spring, a Sixties feel presides, with plenty of acidic colours such as orange, yellow and pink hanging on the rails.

Prints are a key feature, too, with pretty floral shirts, shoes and bikinis proving a strong look for spring. Skirts are either ultra-short or ultra skin-tight.

The D&G look is not for shy, retiring types, although the store does stock baggy, combat-style jeans for those less confident about their bodies.

The D&G look would not be complete without that most Italian of accessories - a pair of sunglasses. And if your children are your favourite accessories, then a whole floor of D&G Junior should have your sprog looking as smart as Brooklyn in a trice.
