Costa killer made London visit

The Briton who has admitted strangling two teenagers in Spain visited his family in London three weeks ago.

Barman Tony King, 38, saw his mother and brother shortly before he was arrested in Spain in connection with the two alleged murders.

The visit emerged today as it was revealed that King served five years of a 10-year jail sentence in Britain for a string of violent sex attacks on women.

He became known as the "Holloway Strangler" after using electrical flex to choke his victims. King changed his named from Tony Bromwich after he was released in 1991.

Detectives will use DNA to examine if there are links between King and unsolved murders in Britain. Commander Andy Baker, who leads London's murder squads, said: "It is possible we will go to Spain to interview King."

Meanwhile, King's mother Lynda Bromwich defended her son at her home in Holloway. In a note taped to the front door, she declared: "I love my son Tony unconditionally to the day I die. I do not believe everything that has been printed. I also know that a lot of lies have been said."

Neighbours said King visited the address three weeks ago after his younger brother, Richard, was badly beaten up.
