While First Choice records losses over the quieter first-half of the financial year, results on Tuesday should still show an improvement in the figure from a loss of £44m last year to one of around £41m this time.

Full-year results from airports operator TBI should produce few surprises on Thursday as the company has already said that the second half of its financial year had been in line with expectations.

The performance was helped by a 13% jump in passenger numbers over the first three months of the calendar year - a figure that reflects the continued popularity of low-cost travel at its sites, including Luton, Belfast International, Cardiff and Stockholm-Skavsta airports.

Analysts' guidance is for pre-tax profits of £22.3m, although this figure has been adjusted and is not comparable with last year when operating profits rose slightly to £23.6m.
