Cleric faces gay protest

Controversy continues to rage today over Muslim cleric Dr Yusuf al-Qaradawi's support for suicide bombings and his stance on gays, Jews and women's rights.

He is to appear with London Mayor Ken Livingstone at a conference on the right to wear the hijab head dress. Gay rights group Outrage! is among those set to protest.

Leader Peter Tatchell said: "Ken Livingstone would not give a platform to the BNP. Dr al-Qaradawi is even more extreme."
