City clerk suspended over email

The parents of the shamed City bank clerk who boasted of his sexual exploits in an email which was sent round the world say he is worried about getting the sack.

Trevor Luxton, 22, has been suspended from his job with French bank Credit Lyonnais for "abusing" its email policy.

His mother, Jenny Luxton, of West Ham, a special needs teacher, said: "We are desperately worried about him. He has just moved in with his fiancee. They bought a house and they are meant to be getting married as soon as they can get the money together.

"He is very worried about his mortgage. As parents, all we want is the best for our son - now he's really worried he's going to lose his job."

The email Mr Luxton sent out was supposed to be restricted to five close friends. It detailed his quiet evening at home the night before: a few beers, a takeaway curry, West Ham on the television ... and oral sex with Laura, a friend's ex-girlfriend.

All the while his fiancee, Jo, was away from home. It ended: "Am I the worst boyfriend in the world or what?"

Sadly for him, one of his five friends decided the email should be shared with a wider audience. The message snowballed. Within a couple of hours it had been read on the internet by hundreds of thousands of people throughout the City - and around the world.

In the email, sent on Wednesday, Mr Luxton claims that his fiancee called him during his sexual encounter, at which point the girl stopped the sex act, "looks up at me, winks and whispers, 'Say hello to Jo for me,' and then gets back to the job in hand."

The email was circulated to staff at dozens of major firms across London, including HSBC, Emap, the Bank of England, Bloomberg, Barclays, KPMG, Capital Management Group and the Football Association.

Mr Luxton's embarrassment follows the case of lawyer Claire Swire, 29, who two years ago sent an email to Bradley Chait, a fellow solicitor at City firm Norton Rose following one of their sexual encounters, which she described as "yummy".

The flattered Mr Chait could not resist sharing the sentiments expressed in graphic detail by Miss Swire and forwarded it to six male friends, saying: "Now that's a nice compliment from a lass, isn't it?"

Those friends in turn sent it to their friends and it crossed continents.

One recipient of the Luxton email wrote: "I think we should get this dirty love rat in as much trouble as possible by sending it around the City Claire Swire style! Hopefully his bird will end up seeing it and dump his ass!"

Another wrote: "Let's get this two-timing a******e in trouble ... send this to everyone you know who works in the City and hopefully it will get back to his bird. I love being evil!"

Mr Luxton's father Barry, an engineering lecturer, said: "He emailed a few friends and one of them let him down.

"The guy who passed it on has already apologised to him."
