Citigroup sued for racism

A Muslim man who worked for a leading City firm is suing them for racial discrimination after claiming he was abused for more than two years after the September 11 attacks.

Yaldrem Majeed, 35, who was an assistant vice president at Citigroup, said he was forced to resign and take legal action after the company ignored his repeated complaints. He is the second

British-based Muslim employee of Citigroup - one of the world's largest financial companies - to allege racial harassment.

Mr Majeed claims that his manager said there was no point in making a fuss because nothing would happen. The company has denied the allegations.
