Chefs cooking up a treat at food festival

Some of the country's top chefs got together to launch the annual Taste of London festival.

Antony Worrall Thompson, Aldo Zilli and Michel Roux Junior will be among those showcasing their food at the event, which will be held in Regent's Park from 19-22 June.

The festival, backed by the Evening Standard, will play host to more than 40 of the capital's top restaurants, including Le Gavroche, L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon, China Tang and Le Café Anglais.

Each will serve signature dishes in sample sizes, while Michelin-starred chefs, including Tom Aikens, Angela Hartnett, Gary Rhodes and Atul Kochhar, will show off their skills at the Taste Theatre. Visitors will be able to watch and interact with them as they host demonstrations and tastings celebrating the best of British food.

Chefs from Beijing's Lan restaurant and some of London's leading Chinese restaurants, including Kai, Snazz Sichuan and China Tang, will create a Taste of China.

As well as traditional food and drink, there will be dragon dances, ice-carvers, acrobatic Shaolin monks and tai chi performers.
