Camden schoolgirl succeeds Emma Watson at Burberry

A 16-year-old straight-A student from Camden is following in the footsteps of Emma Watson and Kate Moss as a new face of Burberry.

Nina Porter, below, received six A* and five A grades in her GCSEs this summer, weeks after Burberry launched its new campaign featuring her.

"I was really excited about both things," Nina said, adding that modelling is "a hobby on the side" which does not interfere with her studies.

She will return to Camden School for Girls this week to start working towards A-levels in art, photography, textiles and history, and hopes to study fashion at university.

"Modelling is really good because it helps me to understand the fashion industry," she said. "My parents, who have been really supportive, pointed out that modelling would be a good way to meet people who have done what I would like to do."

Nina was spotted by a scout from Select model agency at the Clothes Show when she was 14. Since then, she has appeared in both British and US Vogue.

She was one of the "new faces" picked to front the Burberry campaign, shot by Mario Testino, and is also the face of the British brand's debut cosmetic range. Emma Watson, 20, was dropped by Burberry last month.
