Blackbird, run by former JP Morgan trader Shawn Dorsch, agreed a £500,000 payoff with May in September 2000 on condition that he did not work for a rival for a year. But May began working for ICAP as a consultant nine months later, Blackbird claims in a legal complaint filed in the US. It is not known how much ICAP paid May to join, or the size of the damages Blackbird is seeking. But the fresh allegation comes as ICAP hopes to resolve a bitter breach-ofcontract dispute with Cantor Fitzgerald this week over three brokers that ICAP is said to have poached.
