British girl dies on African motorway

British teenager died after falling from a moving vehicle on a motorway in South Africa's Western Cape.

Witnesses say Marya Tankaria, 18, of Birmingham, fell from the VW Caddy last night.

Police captain Bernadine Steyn said: "It is believed that the driver provided a lift to the victim from a garage near Mossel Bay to Sedgefield. As they approached Kwanonqaba, the victim allegedly jumped from the moving vehicle." Next of kin have been informed.
