Boy's fingerprints 'on murder knife'

The knife that killed Somali schoolboy Kaiser Osman was found wrapped in newspaper covered in the fingerprints of teenage murder suspect Boy A, the Old Bailey heard today.

Police found the eight-inch blade bearing 15-year-old Kaiser's blood under litter and rubble behind an electricity sub station close to where the defendant had told his friends he had hidden it, the jury was told.

Boy A, 14 at the time and now 15, is accused of plunging the knife through the heart of Kaiser - who had come to Britain as a haven from his war-torn homeland - in the street in March after vowing to "get the biggest knife I can find" and "write his face off".

His cousin, then aged 11 and now 12, is also charged with murder and is one of the youngest defendants in such a trial at the Old Bailey.

The court has heard that after a scuffle was broken up by an adult outside a youth club in Harlesden, Boy A ordered his younger cousin to get a knife and, after fetching it from their kitchen "dutifully and without dissent or protest", the elder boy hid it up his sleeve, ran after Kaiser and stabbed him.

Today, the court heard that Boy B had retracted a denial and admitted he had passed his cousin the knife but did not know how it would be used.

Both A and B, from Harlesden, have pleaded not guilty to murder near the Acorn youth club. The case continues.
