Bombers 'targeted British children'

The Madrid train bombers may have planned to attack a British school in Spain, it emerged today.

Spanish police say suspects linked to the train bomb which killed 191 people planned to hit other targets including the country's royal family and an English primary school.

Documents found in the flat shared by several suspects listed the Brains school in an upmarket Madrid suburb where David Beckham rented a house. The details emerged in documents handed to a parliamentary commission by investigators.

The report suggests the Islamic terrorist cell believed to be responsible for the 11 March outrage planned a campaign of attacks, possibly including the wedding of Prince Felipe last month, attended by Prince Charles.
