BNP postman will fight to be Mayor

The British National Party is putting up a candidate in next year's elections for London Mayor.

Postman Julian Leppert, 36, has vowed to raise the far-Right party's profile in the capital. He has no chance of victory but it could lead to a BNP seat on the London Assembly.

Mayor Ken Livingstone said today that would be a "real setback" for race relations. The BNP already has 17 local councillors in Britain.

Mr Leppert joined the BNP a year ago to fight "rising multiculturalism". He said: "We don't want to be a minority in our city,"
