BMW could hold clue to murder

Scotland Yard is following up a dramatic new lead in the hunt for the killers of two businessmen shot with an Uzistyle machine-gun in a row over a parking space.

Police are mounting an urgent nationwide hunt for the driver of a black BMW who could hold vital information about the murder of hoteliers Amarjit Singh, 52, and his nephew, Raginder, 35, who were killed outside their hotel in Forest Gate, by a three-man gang.

Detectives believe the wealthy hoteliers unwittingly challenged the dangerous criminals in a petty row over a parking space.

A witness has told police how one of the gang fell against a passing black BMW as he fled the scene, placing his hand on the vehicle's bonnet.

A detective said: "We are desperately trying to find this driver. Providing he hasn't washed his car he could give us a perfect handprint and fingerprint of the killer."

The three suspects are described as being of Asian appearance. All were in their 20s, and one had untidy collarlength hair and was wearing a black jacket.
