Blunkett rages at the 'Money God'

Gordon Brown has been dubbed the "Money God" by David Blunkett after the two clashed over funding for the fight against crime.

The Home Secretary used the term to vent his frustration as he attempted to win more money. Mr Blunkett is said to have told aides: "I am going to see my friend (Blair). Then I am going to see my other friend (Brown), the Money God. Who does he think he is? Oh well, I will have to see what I can get."

Mr Blunkett is expected to win some money today but it may be less than he expected.
