Arsenal stars give their pay to Centrepoint

Arsenal's players and directors are donating a day's wages in a drive to raise half a million pounds for London's largest youth homelessness charity by the end of the season.

Stars including Russian World Cup ambassador Andrey Arshavin will be donating cash to Centrepoint from tomorrow's home match against Fulham.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said: "Centrepoint do some fantastic work with young homeless people across London."

Professional football hopeful Denero D'Angelo was sleeping rough less than a year ago. After becoming injured while playing for second division Spanish team Marbella in 2008, he returned to London where he was unable to secure work and was forced onto the streets.

"I now play for the Centrepoint football team and have taken my Level 1 and 2 coaching badges," he said.
