£12,000 Rolex taken in daylight robbery

Three muggers attacked a wealthy woman and her 64-year-old mother in a planned daylight robbery to steal her £12,000 Rolex, a court heard today.

The robbers made off with the diamond encrusted watch after pushing Susan Homm to the ground as she walked along a street with her mother and two children, five and eight.

One of the gang allegedly attacked Mrs Homm and snatched the watch while another grappled with her mother, pushing her to the ground and trying to take her handbag. The Old Bailey heard how the trio then fled the scene, Kensington's Cranley Gardens, got into a car and drove off at speed on 23 August last year.

The car was abandoned nearby and two of the three were arrested, the jury heard. The third has never been caught. Terry Clarke, 22, of Shepherd's Bush, and Leonard Fletcher, 31, both deny robbery and attempted robbery. Fletcher, of White City, admits dangerous driving. The case continues.
