'Al Qaeda man in rugby bomb plot'

French security chiefs feared al Qaeda suspect Willie Brigitte was planning an attack on this month's rugby World Cup in Australia.

Now held in Paris on terrorism charges, he was suspected of liaising between a bomb-maker and bombers.
