Hidden in plain sight: IKEA teams up with Sonos to create wi-fi speakers concealed inside a lamp and a shelf

Swedish interiors giant IKEA has teamed up with audio trailblazers Sonos to create two new smart speakers – hidden inside a lamp and a shelf.

Called SYMFONISK, the tech collaboration consists of two different wi-fi speakers given a cool Scandi makeover.

The table lamp, inspired by the fireplace and pictured below, brings both light and sound to a room.

From August, the range will be available in two different colours, grey and white or gold and black, the base doubles up as a built-in speaker.

Doubling up as a book shelf, the second speaker, priced at £150, can be attached to the wall and hold up to 3kg of weight on a bracket.

Priced at £99 and available in either black or white, it can be attached to almost any kitchen rail with hooks.
