Hundreds of artefacts including a Tudor bowling ball and horseshoes from Roman London will go on show in an exhibition of finds from the Crossrail project.
Work on 26 miles of tunnels, linking 40 stations from Reading in the west through to Shenfield in the east, has turned up more than 10,000 objects which were examined by on-site archaeologists.
The best are to go on show in February at the Museum of London Docklands. They include Stone Age flints found in North Woolwich, the bowling ball dug out in Stepney Green and medieval ice-skates made from bone found near Liverpool Street station.
