A similarly exclusive line is being taken with the guests. The occasion has become the must-have meal ticket of the year and common or garden celebrity will not get you in, say the organisers.
"We have been besieged by celebrities desperate to come," said a spokesperson. "But we have made a rule: no soap stars. We want people who genuinely support the charity and who are genuinely interested in great food and great wine."
Some of the names on the guest list are Sir Richard and Lady Branson, Sir Clement Freud, Pink Floyd guitarist Dave Gilmour, Chrysalis owner Chris Wright and Michael Mansfield QC.
Others who have been invited include Kate Winslet, Emma Thompson, Annie Lennox, Darcey Bussell, Helen Mirren, Nigella Lawson, Ken Livingstone, Clive James, John Cleese, Mariella Frostrup, Sheila Hancock and John Thaw.
